On Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 4pm, inauguration of the new garden gate at CRAC Alsace, forged by Marnie Slater, Clare Noonan, Jessica Gysel, Judith Geerts, Katja Mater, Matilda Cobanli and Robin Brettar, in the framework of the closing of Friendship : That Shiver, That Aspen, at CRAC Alsace.

CRAC Alsace is pleased to invite you to the inauguration of its new garden grate, forged by Marnie Slater, Clare Noonan, Jessica Gysel, Judith Geerts, Katja Mater, Matilda Cobanli and Robin Brettar.

4pm—celebration of the final days of the exhibition Friendship : That Shiver, That Aspen at CRAC Alsace and of the new garden gate.
On the program: conversations, snacks and music arranged by the artists!

The artists Marnie Slater, Clare Noonan, Jessica Gysel, Judith Geerts, Katja Mater, Matilda Cobanli and Robin Brettar are in the process of renovating a building in the Molenbeek neighborhood in Brussels, where they will live and work. At the request of the local authority, three gaping holes were drilled in one of the shared walls overlooking the street and a park. As these holes expose the future balconies for all to see, and its occupants to the risk of falling, they plan to make and install metallic gates that will represent the histories, friendships and queer feminist politics that unite them. In response to our invitation to participate in the exhibition Friendship : That Shiver, That Aspen, they propose to interweave the life of these pieces with the exhibition by forging a version for the entrance of the CRAC garden and presenting the documentation of its creation at Crédac, enthusiastic about the idea that in the longer term, part of their home and the deep friendship that binds them might become part of the worlds of the two art centers.

Please note: Altkirch hosts the Championnat de France de l'Avenir de cyclisme sur route that same week-end. It is strongly recommended to come by train to CRAC Alsace, accessible from Mulhouse, Belfort and Basel. Motorized visitors are advised to take the 3E Zouave street, which runs alongside the Saint-Morand Hospital, and use the Super U parking lot.

Frienship : That Shiver, That Aspen , is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 2pm to 6pm, from February 18 to May 12, 2024, at CRAC Alsace. Guided tours are organized every Saturday and Sunday at 3pm by reservation. Free entrance.
Friendship : That Shiver, That Aspen unfolds at Crédac until July 13, 2024, in Ivry-sur-Seine, from Wednesday to Friday, from 2pm to 6pm, as well as on the week-end, from 2pm to 7pm.
