In March 2021, school residency by Alexis Camille Chevallier & Anouk Moyaux with students from École élémentaire Les Tuileries, Altkirch, Collège Jean-Paul de Dadelsen, Hirsingue, Institut médico-éducatif and Collège Jean Monnet, Dannemarie.
This school residency follows several residency programs initiated and organized by the art center since 2015. This type of residency is conceived as a site of both artistic and pedagogical intervention. They associate the art center, artists, students, and teachers.
Four classes from École élémentaire Les Tuileries, Altkirch, Collège Jean-Paul de Dadelsen, Hirsingue, Institut médico-éducatif and Collège Jean Monnet, Dannemarie, accompanied by their teachers—Marlène Freund, Nathalie Greff, Annick Groelly and Sophie Louyot—will develop an artistic project in collaboration with the artists.
Alexis Camille Chevallier & Anouk Moyaux's practice as a duo is currently based around artistic and pedagogical research into the Bastille Elephant, a project originally conceived in 1808 for the Place de la Bastille, in Paris, and ultimately abandoned. Its history will lead to a project mixing imagination and investigation through drawings, sculptural work, and recordings.
