From September 2020, production residency by Liv Schulman ahead of her solo exhibition at CRAC Alsace in 2021.
Liv Schulman observes how contemporary societies proceed to alienate individuals and social groups. The multiple discourses at the heart of her practice deal with the role of subjectivity within political spaces, the difficulty of giving credit to it. Schulman encourages us to adhere to her theories at the same time as she dismantles them. Within the incredulous belief-system of her work, to create is to directly experience a milieu, a system, a subject.
Liv Schulman was born in 1985. She grew up in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and lives and works in Paris. She studied at ENSAPC, Cergy, Goldsmiths University of London (UK), UTDT, Buenos Aires and ENSBA, Lyon. She is represented by Piedras Gallery, Buenos Aires and A+A, Venice.
